ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF BOTANY
The Department of Botany at Payyanur College is a hub of excellence in plant sciences, offering comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Affiliated with Kannur University, our department is dedicated to advancing knowledge in areas such as plant physiology, taxonomy, ecology, and biotechnology.
Our Facilities

Sale of Mushroom Spawn by PG Department of Botany
The
PG Department of Botany at Payyanur College successfully conducted a sale of
mushroom spawn on July 29, 2024, at 2:30 PM within the department premises. The
event was inaugurated by Mr. Muhammed Haneef K A , Assistant Professor in the
Department of Botany at Brennan College, who graced the occasion with his
presence. Dr. P.R. Swarn, the IQAC Coordinator, extended warm felicitations to
the department for the initiative. The sale was well-received by the P G
Student Arya K, showcasing the department's commitment to promoting sustainable
agriculture and entrepreneurship. The department successfully sold 4.5 kg of
mushroom spawn to a total of 4 interested buyers. The department also
acknowledges the hard work and dedication of its faculty and students in making
this event a success. The department hopes to continue such initiatives in the
future, contributing to the growth of the local community and promoting
awareness about mushroom
